Last week was BUSY. Rip had two different Halloween parties at preschool, and I helped out at one while planning/organizing/attending the other. I'm pretty sure that's where I caught Strep. Fun. Now James has it, so double fun.
This is Ripley's Monday/Wednesday preschool class. Aren't 4-year-olds funny?
Halloween night we went to the Veldhuizens' for the 3rd Annual Veldencoope Halloween Extravaganza (I cannot take credit for the name -- that would be Ellery). Here we are mid-extravaganza.
I guess I'd lost my wings by then, but I was a butterfly.
We had a big dinner and then the guys took all three girls out for a marathon Trick or Treating trip. They estimate they hit 30+ houses! That was a factor of the beautiful weather + jello shots at one of the neighbors' homes. Elle and I stayed back with her baby Graysen, answered the door to trick or treaters, and had cocktails. Good times.
Did I mention James dressed as a gardener? That lasted for all of 5 minutes. His real costume was this ridiculous Borat shirt that the Veldhuizens gave him for his birthday (big picture of Borat giving two thumbs up and saying "Very NiCE!"). It is classy. James wanted Ellery and Creig to see how much he likes the shirt by wearing it, but he thought he was safe wearing another shirt (the button-down in the above photo) over it. That worked until, during the trick-or-treat marathon, Rip's candy basket got so full that James had to take off the button-down to convert it into a gunny sack to carry overflow candy...thusly revealing his sexy Borat shirt. I can only imagine what the neighbors thought of him. I hope we still getinvited back for a 4th Veldencoope Halloween.
P.S. You know what's funny? The only reason I ended up with time to write a post tonight was because I'd already gone past my self-imposed time limit for staying up this evening and was headed upstairs, when I realized I'd been going by a clock that I hadn't yet adjusted for Daylight Savings. All of the sudden I felt like I'd just found an extra hour in my evening!
