Finally, a few crafty things to share with you!
A group of us got together to scrap on Friday night, and I don't think any of us were "feeling it" - I seriously stared at a layout for 2 hours without doing anything to it. So I switched gears and finally decorated my "B" (for BREATHE, of course) that was given to me months ago by my buddy Steph C. I used this past month's IT Kit, a bunch of funny leftovers (including a key and a washer I found during the Great Garage Cleanup this weekend), some craft wire (hot pink, copper, and green) that sat in my drawer untouched, and a page out of an old dictionary (with the definition of Breathe). It was a really fun project and totally different than what I usually do.
I posted a sneak peek of the Ski Utah mini albumin May but held off posting the rest until my goddaughter Regan had the album in her possession. This is an acetate album by Maya Road, and I've got to say I'm still stumped on the best way to adhere paint and glitter glue to this material...? Anyone? I ended up using tons of glue dots on this project in order to get ANYTHING to stay permanently (paper, embellishments, letters, rhinestones). To see the whole album, click here or click the album on the left hand side of this blog. A little side note: I won first place in the album cover contest at CKU Houston with this entry!
I saved my favorite for last...I've been hoarding this little chipboard house album for months and finally decided to fill it with little pictures (wallet sized from Costco -- dirt cheap at $.39 for 4 wallets) of the "little", every day moments of Ripley's liferight now. I packed up two Basic Grey paper packs, a few embellishments from 7 Gypsies, Making Memories, and Maya Road, and ribbon from Love Elsie. It was such a great moment for me because I was forced to only work with what I had, nothing more, and it truly allowed me to be more creative. I had several of the ladies at CKU ask what class this album was from and how to get a hold of one! If you'd like to see the whole album, click here or scroll over to the Everyday Ripley album on the left hand side of this blog page.
Hope you had a creative/productive/relaxing/____________ (fill in the blank) weekend!
